This is one tough hombre of a western poker shootout, especially since it affords the last chance to win a guaranteed $25,000 seat at the WPT World Championship. Drawing 381 players with a $5,000 entry fee, the prize pool this year reached $1,700,000, with a hefty $600,000 awaiting the victor, who will emerge from this tough pool of tested pros and hungry newcomers:
Russ Carlson, retired sanitation exec from Black Hawk, CO
Blair Rodman, pro gambler and tournament poker player, from Las Vegas, NV
Arnold Spee, salesman turned poker pro from Thousand Oaks, CA
Michael Yoshino, 23 year old Southern California Marine Corps Reservist
Mark Chapic, a home developer and online qualifier from Cleveland, OH
Phil Ivey, world renowned young poker pro in his fifth WPT final Tune in to the Travel Channel this week to find out if it’s a cagey old-timer, a crafty vet, or a cunning young gun who rides out of Reno with the penultimate WPT Season 3 title.
